dangellodj discovered electronic music the long way round. A drummer from the age of fifteen and a bass player from sixteen, he spent twenty-seven years playing in bands and earned a degree in jazz before playing his first DJ set in 2013.

Born in Mozambique and based in Lisbon, he holds a residency at Clássico Beach Bar in Costa da Caparica and has hosted MyBackyard Music weekly since 2016, now past 250 episodes. He mixes three or more channels live and in real time across Pioneer, Roland and Maschine hardware, so no two sets are ever the same. His sound is deep, melodic, tribal and Afro House — warm, hypnotic and built for the moment the sun drops.
